The law firm of Gregory, Moore, Jeakle & Brooks, P.C. headed by Gordon A. Gregory, the Union’s general counsel, is responsible for protecting our Union and our members’ legal rights. This includes, preparing and defending members whose cases are scheduled to be heard before an arbitrator.

Gordon Gregory has represented Faculty Unions at Wayne State, Eastern, Oakland, Michigan Tech and Northern. On an ad hoc basis he has represented Faculty at U of M, UM Dearborn and UM Flint, and Western.

His experience includes numerous tenure and promotion arbitrations, contract interpretation arbitrations, and Michigan Employment Relations Commission (MERC) proceedings and court proceedings.

He holds undergraduate and Doctor of Law degrees from the University of Wisconsin. In 2003 he received the coveted Distinguished Service Award of the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He personally argued a landmark successor employer case in the U.S. Supreme Court.

The firm’s practice is exclusively labor and employment law; it is one of the most prominent labor law firms in the country. In fact, Gordon Gregory is named in the Best Lawyers In America and has an AV rating, the highest given by Martindale-Hubbell, and is former Chair of State Bar Labor Law Section and Industrial Relations Research Association.
